Chapter 5

Proposals and Execution

Governance proposals move from idea to executed code through structured stages. Skipping stages causes failed votes, angry communities, or dangerous rushed upgrades.

Proposals vary widely: parameter changes to fees or collateral factors, treasury spends for grants and partnerships, contract upgrades through proxy swaps, and constitutional changes to quorum or voting period.

Before voting, verify target contract addresses, function selectors, and simulated outcomes on Tenderly. Malicious proposals have passed on low-turnout votes — reading calldata is not optional diligence.
