Cross-Chain Oracles
Multichain DeFi needs more than token bridges — it needs consistent data across networks. A vault on Arbitrum and a risk engine on Ethereum should not disagree about the same asset's price. Cross-chain oracles and messaging protocols relay attestations so contracts on one chain can trust signals rooted elsewhere.
Chainlink deploys parallel Data Feeds on many L1s and L2s, often with similar aggregation logic per chain. CCIP extends that model to arbitrary messages — token transfers plus data — with a shared risk management network. Other projects use light clients, optimistic verification, or multisig committees with very different trust assumptions.
When evaluating multichain integrations, ask whether the feed is natively sourced on each chain or relayed from a hub. Relayed data adds latency and a hop that can fail independently of either chain's liveness.
