Bridging and Multichain UX

Multichain users rarely start with native assets on every chain. Someone with ETH on Ethereum who wants to swap on Solana must bridge — moving value across trust boundaries with wrapped tokens, liquidity pools, or message-passing protocols that each carry distinct risk profiles.

UX friction compounds quickly. Users need gas on both chains, must understand wrapped vs native tokens, and often wait minutes for finality-dependent confirmations. Wallet apps are improving with chain-abstraction layers, but today most bridging still means explicit network switches, approval transactions, and tracking a bridge status page.

Security history matters: bridge exploits have drained billions across Wormhole, Ronin, and other protocols. Before bridging significant value, check whether the bridge uses a multisig, light-client verification, or optimistic challenge period — and whether liquidity for your return trip actually exists on the other side.
