Chapter 3
Wallets and Access
In DeFi, the wallet is not just a place to store assets. It is the tool that identifies you, shows what you are about to do, and signs on your behalf.
That means access feels fast compared with opening a brokerage account, but every prompt matters because your approval can grant real contract powers.
A wallet connection by itself usually just lets the app read your address and balances. Approvals and signatures are where real authority begins.
That distinction is why experienced users treat each step differently. Connecting is lightweight, approving can expand contract access, and signing is the moment a transaction or message becomes yours.
