Chapter 1
Introduction to Staking
Staking means locking cryptocurrency to help secure a proof-of-stake network and earning rewards in return. It replaces mining for many blockchains — including Ethereum after the Merge — and is how most ETH holders earn yield today.
Solo validators need 32 ETH and technical setup on Ethereum. Most holders participate through pools, exchanges, or liquid staking protocols that operate validators on their behalf. On Cosmos, Solana, and similar chains, delegation to chosen validators is the default model.
This course covers PoS mechanics, Ethereum staking, liquid staking, restaking, risks, and cross-chain comparison — everything you need to stake informed, not just chase headline APY.
