Chapter 18
Where to Go Next
By this point, you have the map: blockchains, wallets, smart contracts, tokens, DeFi, governance, and security. The next step is not to learn everything at once. It is to pick a direction and go one layer deeper with intent.
Different learners are motivated by different questions. Some want to understand Ethereum more deeply. Others care about Bitcoin's monetary design, DeFi markets, application building, or defensive security habits.
If you liked the system-level ideas, Ethereum and Bitcoin are strong next steps because they explain the design tradeoffs underneath the broader ecosystem. If you liked the product side, DeFi and dApp development turn those ideas into concrete user flows.
Security belongs on every path. The more capable you become, the more important it is to understand signing, approvals, upgrade risk, and the social engineering that targets both users and builders.
Web3 makes more sense when you revisit the same concepts from multiple angles. Depth beats breadth from here: pick one path, keep following the details, and let the bigger picture connect itself.
