Chapter 1
Introduction to Web3 Gaming
Web3 gaming applies blockchain to games — NFT items, token economies, play-to-earn rewards, and wallets instead of traditional accounts. The pitch is true ownership and open economies; the reality mixes innovation with speculative bubbles and UX friction.
Games need low latency and free micro-transactions — blockchains offer the opposite by default. Studios that treat blockchain as enhancement rather than the entire pitch tend to retain players longer than token-first launches.
This course covers P2E economics, NFT assets, infrastructure, token design, virtual worlds, esports, studio models, UX, security, and where gaming heads next.
